Accessibility
Fowler Industries works to keep this site usable for everyone. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, Level AA, the same standard the US Department of Justice cites for commercial websites under ADA Title III.
Conformance Target
WCAG 2.1 Level AA across every customer-facing page. That covers keyboard operability, screen-reader announcements, color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for body text), respect for reduced-motion preferences, and form-field labeling.
How We Test
We audit with multiple tools and re-run them after every meaningful change:
- axe-core 4.10 (Deque Labs): automated rule checks across every key template.
- Google Lighthouse: accessibility scoring per page.
- Keyboard-only walkthrough: full purchase flow without a mouse.
- Screen reader spot-checks via NVDA on Windows.
Known Exceptions
One known minor exception remains as of this statement's last review:
- The "Skip to content" link at the top of every page lives outside a landmark region per the parent theme's convention. Screen readers reach it correctly; the warning is a structural one, not a functional barrier.
